The Real Madrid trio embellishes the Champions League Team of the Week
The Real Madrid trio adorns the UEFA Champions League Team of the Week after the Spanish club successfully overcame the obstacle of RB Leipzig in the first leg of the Round of 16, winning 1-0 at the Red Bull Arena.
The trio of Andriy Lunin, Ferland Mendy, and Brahim Diaz found a place in the official lineup chosen by the Union of European Football Associations (UEFA) through its official website.
Lunin, the Ukrainian goalkeeper, delivered an outstanding performance against Leipzig with remarkable saves, while playmaker Diaz was the star of the match, scoring the only goal alongside the left-back, Frenchman Mendy.
The lineup also featured three players from Paris Saint-Germain, who defeated Real Sociedad 2-0 at Parc des Princes, namely Kylian Mbappe, Achraf Hakimi, and Marquinhos.
Similar to Real Madrid and Paris, three players from Manchester City made it to the lineup after the Sky Blues' 3-1 victory over FC Copenhagen, including Phil Foden, Bernardo Silva, and Kevin De Bruyne.
Completing the lineup were Magnus Mattsson from Copenhagen and Mario Gila from Lazio, the Italian team that triumphed over Bayern Munich with a 1-0 score at the Stadio Olimpico
